Got concrete to get rid of in Los Angeles?
Sure, using a jackhammer may look pretty fun in videos, but do you really want to be using one all day to dig out all that old concrete on your property?
Not only that, what are you going to do with all that concrete once you dig it out? Put it in your car to take it to the dump? Is your car big enough? Do you even know where the dump is?
Demolishing concrete is not the kind of thing you can do by hand on a weekend. In fact, do not DIY it. So, what do you do?
Call the demolition experts.
What equipment do we use?
Not only are we licensed concrete contractors, but we also specialize in getting rid of all that pesky, unwanted concrete. How do we do it?
- Skid Steer – These compact loaders pack a big punch. With their front bucket, a skid steer can scoop up to one ton of material all at once. These are indispensable when demolishing larger projects, such as driveways and patios. They are also compact enough to fit into some tight spaces.
- Bobcat – This is the same as a skid steer. However, the brand name has become synonymous with skid steers.
- Back Hoe – Back hoes are the GOATs of digging. This piece of equipment digs into the ground with a bucket on an articulated arm that’s attached to the tractor. They can excavate up to 1,000 cubic yards in one day.
- Jack Hammers – We use different sized jack hammers depending on the size of the job.
As the concrete is being cleared from the property, it is being dumped into specialized trailers that are built to handle very heavy material. With a standard two-car concrete driveway weighing up to 20,000 pounds, obviously all the equipment used to handle it must be heavy duty. Trailers of concrete are emptied at a waste disposal site periodically throughout the demolition process.
Believe it or not, it only takes a day to demolish a two-car driveway. You will leave for work with an old cracked driveway and return to a large, empty expanse in front of your house.
But it won’t be empty for long. In addition to specializing in demolition, we also are concrete contractors. That means, we can frame and pour that brand new concrete driveway for you on the following day. All told, it will take about a week to demolish and install a new driveway. If you’re just replacing a driveway apron (that angled entrance to your driveway), it only takes about one day.
When it comes to demolishing your deteriorating concrete, we hope you’ll give us a call to schedule your first consultation. We’ll make your project a breeze!
